WOW! Holy Hell!
Don't mean to offend anyone at all, but where has time gone? Life has just sped by!
Lolo's has seen a lot change in the last couple of years, not only in our own personal lives but the lives of many of you. The amazing personal growth and business growth has been astounding and we are honored and humbled.

Today I visited the Mes Amis Antique show in Roseville, Ca and reconnected with old friends and made a handful of some new. Something I always enjoy. The economy has been rough on many of our fellow friends and vendors and I cheer those who are still out there making a go of it. My fellow friends you rock and I salute you! Here are some pictures of the show as we plan to come back to the circuit and show next fall!

One of our all time favorite vendors is Aimee from Antique Gardener! I can guarantee I always find something that just makes me swoon! See the turkey feeder below? Yes, it just had to be mine! Loaded in the bed of my truck, thank you to a sweet man,,,oh my man,,,,that helped carry it.

But more importantly! Last but far from least! A lady that was instrumental in helping us spread our fledgling wings was Sandy of Olive and Rose then, Tattered House, who saw our potential, believed in us and spurred us on! Thank you Sandy for your encouragement, prayers and positive words! We will always be grateful!

We wish all the families in the industry best wishes in following their dreams. We understand the hardships that are endured and the tough decisions that are involved in staying in or getting out. No matter the decision......know that we are all a kindred spirit and that love and support flows. Good luck as you follow your dreams!

LoLo's Chateau

Life is happening

     Life is happening for us here at Lolo's Chateau. We have had to take a short hiatus from the business and shows. This is not to say that we won't be back, but in the hustle and  bustle of this thing we call life, we had to stop and tend to the needs of those most important to us, our families. 
     In light of having a space in the Tattered House and the girls having to unfortunately close their doors, this forced us to make a shift. Rather than drive 7 hours one way to fill our space, which we happily did, this offered us the chance to refuel our jets and rebuild our inventory. 
     Laurie was and is incredible at staging and setting up vignettes, so her skills have been put to use in both of our homes! Love, Love, Love her touch, class and style.
     We hope to be back out on the road again by spring and can't wait to see all of you. A special thanks to all of you who have supported and sent hugs and kisses to us in our absence.

1 year!

It has been one year since we started LoLo's. What a fun and wild ride. We have met some amazing people in all fields of this business and continue to be inspired by their passion, the passion to follow their creative juices and do what they love! When you are surrounded with that kind of excitement, who could have a bad day?


Our summer schedule is busy and seemingly frantic, but we cannot wait to see many of you at future shows and flea markets! Have a great summer!

Congratulations to my son and Laurie's brother Mark! We celebrated his Wedding day to the new addition to our family! Welcome Allie! Their day could not have been more perfect and beautiful.


When all the festivities were over, the two of us took a few days for ourselves to relax, unwind, and do what we do, JUNK! Though I have to add we took a grand foot tour of Little Italy in downtown San Diego and had an amazing lunch at a little place tucked behind the Italian grocery store it shared space with. The meatballs were the size of my fist, so of course we had to have some of those for our dinner.
The next night was shared with some new friends at "Indigo's" in Little Italy as well, their food is new western fusion, can I just say, Amazing! We all shared and sampled each other's plates, we could all say that no one had a bad dish, everything was wonderful.


Back to JUNK! Heehee, we are getting ready to take off again and shop our way to The Tattered House in Roseville, we will be filling our space with new found treasures, working the shop, and waiting to see all of the faithful shoppers. We look forward to seeing you soon, whether that be at a show or at the shop. Take care and until we meet again!

Where have we been?

I have to apologize for being remiss in my blogging. LoLo's has been traveling back and forth from SoCal to Norcal the last few months and we are just now catching our breath. We joined the The Tattered House team, and now share a room within the house. We also participated in the Roseville Antique Street Faire this month, that is put on by the Tattered House. Joining the shop one month before the street faire had us scrambling just a bit and all of the goodies we had planned to put in our booth would now go into the shop. As you can imagine we wondered what we would do to bring our booth back to the Awesomeness we had envisioned. It all came together and we felt good about how we presented ourselves as the "newbies" to the street and the shop. Here are some photos we would like to share with you on the days leading up to and after. Enjoy!

Ready to hit the road

     We don't know about you, but We find ourselves being asked all of the time where we find our treasures. It literally is everywhere! We are "soldiers" as Laurie likes to say. We hop in the truck and off we go, we have no idea where we are going or what we are looking for, but we sure know when we find it! Sometimes the things We absolutely love are the things that just sit. No one else seems to love them the way We do. Hmmm, what were We thinking? But as suddenly as our new loved treasure seems to be getting the cold shoulder, someone comes along that loves it as much as We did, and shares their new found vision for that item. We are always impressed by the creativity of the people who are re-creating their homes, office and outdoor spaces.


      These two "soldiers" are heading to Norcal next week! and from our house to our final destination is about a 7 1/2 hour drive! (if we don't stop) That is a lot of ground to cover and a lot of little shops to hit along the way. We don't know what we are looking for, but we will know when we find it. So we will pack our road snacks, tie downs and straps and apparently as of late, a lot of extra gas money! That is another blog topic! We are looking forward to the New Year and it's promise of all things wonderful. Sunday was the first flea market of the year, and though we froze in the wee hours of the morning, we were embraced by many of our friends who were just as cold  but just as eager to be there shopping and selling.

 As the morning warmed up and the skies cleared, some of our favorite shoppers stopped by to pay us a visit. Kathee Z. with her bigs hugs, Kimberly F. and her husband who are hysterical, (ask them how long they have been married) love the answer! Still giggling. Celebrities bustled for their finds and new friends and followers introduced themselves. So much fun!

We are busy shopping for new treasures and have found some that are going to be hard not to share with you before some of  our spring shows, but we are sure you will be thrilled when you see them. Until then................. we hope to see you soon!

New Year's Snow

The New Year was welcomed in by father winter himself. What a great way to spend the New Year's weekend, watching the soft feathery flakes tumble to the ground. The wood burning stove warming my cottage, mulling spices simmering on the stove waifing up the most relaxing cinnamon smells imaginable. For me this was the best of welcomes to a new year. Here in California, my cottage is located at approx. 3200 ft, we may or may not get snow and when we do it only lasts for a couple of days to a week. This is my idea of being snowed in. This gave me some great time to catch up on some of my favorite blogs, email friends, and really reflect on the ideas that have been floating in my creative think tank. 

For me, there are times when so many idea's race through my mind, I wish I had the time needed to make them all happen. My idea journal is becoming a greater source of comfort and inspiration, it comforts me because I know as long as I write things down or scribble a picture I won't forget and that inspires me.It inspires me to know that on the days when I feel my least creative, I can open my journal and put myself to work making those ideas a reality.

Like diamonds waiting to be found in the glistening snow, How will you find inspiration in this New 2011 Year? Whether your inspired to do the big or small, we offer our encouragement to follow your heart and dreams.

How is everyone doing? Laurie and I hope that everyone is feeling the love of family and friends! We hope that your home is filled with the smells of home baked goodies and the stresses of the outside world are far from the thresholds of your entryway! Better yet, we hope that the worries of finances and stress are left outside to catch their "death" of cold. We hope New Year glories fill your every nook and cranny and the bounty of all that is good far surpasses your wildest dreams!

We are finishing up this year with a few last shows! It has been such fun meeting so many of you and establishing lasting friendships. Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves and being a wonderful part of our success. We can't wait to see so many of you in the shows to come in the New Year, until then...........

Thankful and Blessed

As we near the day of Thanksgiving, we are once again reminded of how wonderfully blessed we are. The list becomes endless when I sit and put pen to paper, as a physical reminder of anything and everything that has given me reason to stop and reflect. I am THANKFUL! Life has not been simple and it has not been kind at times, but it is those times that have magnified the good. Laurie and I have looked back only to see how far we have come, not only as women, mother and daughter, but as partners'. We are thankful to the two men in our lives that spur us on in following our dreams, who put no limits or restrictions on our piles of rust that "will" become something beautiful. These two don't always see what we see in a piece of "what is that?", but are thrilled and sometimes very surprised with the outcome. As we travel on our "junkin" sprees, they have claimed a few treasures of their own along the way to contribute and support our business venture, we call this branch of the business, "BoonePoo". We will have to show you the "horse" and "hog" that have been refurbished specifically for the next flea market. Big Thanks to BoonePoo for keeping us laughing and being the support that we need behind the scenes. Behind every good woman is a wonderful man!

New Space

We are thrilled to announce we now have a permanent spot in the orange section of the Rose Bowl! It is located on a corner,,,,,,excitement! (FFO2) We will be so much easier to find now! We also will no longer be the only "Shabby" White in the middle of the vintage clothing and yard sale finds! Weeeeee!
Thank you Kathee and Dustin, (Chateau et Jardin)  for always making an effort these last few months to come visit, encourage and show support! P.S. Thank you for the refreshing beverage, it came at the perfect time.

Here are just a few of our rusty, chippy, finds that flew out the booth yesterday! We had a lot of little things that were taking up precious space that needed to go, so we had a blow out sale, so to speak. It was nice to see so many of those things find new homes and new purpose. I think we all have a pile of these types of finds somewhere around our home, garage or workshop, so for us it has been fun but as the saying goes,,,,,
                                                                 it had to go.

These ornaments are our labor of love. They are made of vintage music sheets and vintage scrabble tiles

We had old philharmonic music books that we found at a thrift store, dated 1938 and 1948 scrabble tiles. As we sat and looked at our new beloved finds we were faced with what purpose they would now find. This was our final decision, though labor intensive we are proud of the way they turned out.

These are now being sold in two separate locations in SoCal. Enjoy!

Ventura Flea Market

It is with bittersweet gladness that this beautiful girl was sold at the Ventura Flea Market. She was just decadent!
She was one of those finds that you just have to have but know you can't keep.She was 8' X 4' and I had many a plan for her, I could envision her on a wall in the kitchen, in a family room, even on the outside patio near the BBQ, but for all the wonderful places I could see her, I could hear a small muddled voice in my ear, "Dont be a hoarder"! Yes it was the sweet voice of my partner and daughter, Laurie. My small cottage on the mountain had no room for her and she would yet be one more thing to be put in storage. She would have been one more thing that would have been architecturally designed into the future build, so for now she has a wonderful home and is loved. O.K. all of this positive self talk is like nails on a chalkboard! I miss her! Whaaaaa. sniff, tissue please.

All kidding aside we enjoyed our market and met more amazing women. We were greeted with open arms by countless vendors who encouraged us to come back and sell again. We came home with only a 1/4 of what we went with so loading the truck back up seemed less a chore. It was a long day, 18 hours to be exact, 6 of that on the road, but we will do it again and again we had so much fun.

Look for us this weekend at the Rose Bowl in the White section. If you cross the bridge over the wash and keep to your immediate right and follow the path almost to the K exit you will see us in spot 3063. We will have more toolboxes, rust, ornaments, trays and things of interest. Can't wait to see you there!

Back Home

I am back home after being gone a week. Moved my man and the love of my life up to Northern Ca. for a job. In these economic times we are thankful for the job and the opportunity.It looks like this job will have him for over a year.It is a bittersweet move for Laurie and I, one of our main helpers, do it all, supporters is now gone! What are we to do? Start working out and building up those arms is what I need to do, sigh!

Nonetheless, while I was gone, Laurie was left here back at home to hold down the fort, and work on all of our projects. She has created some great Christmas ornaments, added her touch of glam to others, all while trying to recover a horrible head cold. It was tough not having her with me as I scouted out new territory for junkin'. Sending pictures never seems to be the same. You know the feeling? When your best girlfriend calls to tell you about all the wonderful places and people she has been and met? You are excited, but at the same time, just wish you could be there too! That is what we both felt! Spending hours on the phone keeping each other up to date with what the other was doing and accomplishing. Wanting to share every detail. Well, you get it.

While in NorCal, I managed to sneak in some great junking and one of the best and most successful days was a day shared with the girls from The Tattered House in Roseville.

Ericka and Sandy shared their morning with me and some of their favorite spots to pick. We all had an eye for different things and some of the same. I learned a few new tips as well as shared a few of my own. We had an absolutely wonderful time and laughter was our therapy that morning! 

Sandy is hysterical! She found a tool that she was proud to call the "ball buster", (her excitement over this new found tool was a little scary) and then as you look closer, the box at her feet was an old wooden poison box, there was a possible theme going here. Appropriate measures were taken to make sure no innocent bystanders were hurt.

We made a trip back to the truck to unload our cart and went back in for more. It doesn't look like we should have unloaded yet, but that metal tool box on top is handmade and weighed about 35 pounds! The wheels on the cart were wanting to give way. Don't you just love the mirror? It had been buried for years in an old barn, according to the seller, I just can't wait to clean it up and reveal its glory.

One HOT Day!

Wow! It was one HOT Day!

But the heat of the day

did not stop the loyal shoppers for sure!

We, as always had a great time and met some amazing people.

Some of those who stopped and shopped our booth, were dealers

that had started where we are today and offered their words of ENCOURAGEMENT.

They shared upcoming shows they thought we would love to be involved in, 

as well as stories of past shows they had done and what great times

they all had. Some shared of the opening of their new stores, new booths and

and new ideas. It is exciting to see the joy in the eyes of a woman doing what SHE LOVES. 

That passion is contagious!

Farmers Market Success

We had a great Farmers Market! 

Here Bryan and Laurie feel a sense of pride as we all got our shade up in 

record time. We prepared ourselves for record heat in San Diego and were not

disappointed. The day produced 108 degree heat.

Our visitor Matt Askins, from MOR furniture loved the desk!

But was really looking for a vintage tricycle!
